Dr. Young’s Professional Background

Filed Under (Alternative) by Seth Morris on 23-02-2010

Dr. Robert Young is a nutritionist, microbiologist, and naturopath. He promotes a pro alkaline diet and believes that an overly acidic diet makes the body more prone to sickness and diseases. He has received a PhD as well as a ND (Doctor of Naturopathy) from Clayton College of Natural Health.

Together, Young and his wife, Shelley, run “The pH Miracle Center.” They also hold health seminars and farm alkaline fruits and vegetables. Dr. Young also does live blood analysis to determine how the condition of cells is related to that person’s diet and lifestyle. He also teaches courses on how to do this analysis with a microscope.

He has been influenced by the work of French biologist Antoine Bechamp as well as Gunther Enderlein, a German zoologist and entomologist. Both of these men advocated the theory of pleomorphism, which is basically the idea that cells in the body can morph into unhealthy cells that can cause disease.

His research has led him to believe that the cells in our bodies are much more likely to change into unhealthy cells if the body contains too much acid. The average diet today is more acidic than alkaline so that is why eating foods that are alkaline is important in balancing out your pH levels and making your body less prone to disease.

Some of the prominent diseases that he associates with acidic pH levels in the body include cancer, obesity, osteoporosis, yeast overgrowth, and skin disorders. These are just a few of the diseases, but Dr. Young believes that all diseases are result of a body being too acidic. In other words, there is only one disease out there, and it is called acidosis. The other names we give diseases are merely a result of the body being too acidic.

Dr. Young’s solution for an overly acidic body is to eat more alkaline foods while reducing acidic foods. He also believes that an active lifestyle can make the body less acidic as well.

Live Better and Enjoy Life More Through Chakra Healing

What is Chakra

The human body consists of 88,000 chakras, also referred to as continuously spinning or active energy points that act as portals to receive, interact and transmit life forces between an individual and his surroundings. Chakra is Hindu for spinning wheel. Of the bodys 88,000 energy points, seven are regarded to have major importance in the overall function of our being.

Located along the spine, the seven key chakras are the root, navel, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown. These energy axes (chakra) in our body continuously receive and give out energies from their interaction with our environment such as other people, plants, trees, animals and other elements. They are credited with having a direct effect on our physical, emotional and spiritual character.

One interesting aspect of the explanation and characterization of chakras is the uncanny similarity reached by both the Hindus and Chinese that they are an integral part of mans conscious and subconscious experience. Add to this the fact that both civilizations use the same theory for promoting a healthy and successful life of an individual.

The chakra unceasing interaction with our body and the environment even during our sleep gives them a direct influence over our physical structure and appearance including our bodily processes, health and our emotions. A glitch of any one of the major chakras is an indicator that something is wrong with our physical/emotional health which may directly or indirectly be noticeable.

The reason for this is because each of the seven major chakras is linked to a corresponding endocrine gland in our body. Any imbalance in the function of a chakra affects our physical and emotional processes and manifests a disturbance in the usual pattern of activity or behavior through the endocrine gland linked to it.

Maintaining Chakra Balance Using the above as our starting point, we can then safely conclude that most of our major illnesses and ailments are chakra related. Although there may not be enough physical manifestations of the illness or imbalance (yet) there may be emotions and concerns from way back our childhood that affect us today physically, spiritually or emotionally.

Forgotten or repressed emotional baggage due to traumatic experiences in the past is one of the major causes of chakra imbalance. Since most people have a habit of burying bad memories in their subconscious, we are unaware that these buried emotional toxins have an effect on our bodies at the cellular level. It is therefore necessary to come to terms with our emotional baggage and resolve them in order to maintain the proper balance of our chakra and heal our physical self in the process.

Benefits of Chakra Healing One important aspect to note is that we have the capability to manipulate our chakras and their functions. By doing so, we are also directly controlling their functions in order to achieve good life.

Simple and straightforward practice of color and aroma therapy, controlled breathing exercises and rhythmic exercise routines, Reiki healing and directed meditation with the use of audio even crystals and gemstones are but some of the ways we can do on our own to influence the process of interaction of our bodys energy points.

Other methodologies of chakra healing are meditation (keeping the mind focused on an object of thought or awareness for a certain period of time), guided visualization (done with the aid of audio tapes or CDs to promote natural healing and relaxation techniques to reduce stress, promote relaxation and harness the power of the mind).

Despite the fact that we can see or touch our energy points, aside from the above there are other ways that we can keep them healthy in order for them to better support our body.

The food we eat affects our health and our system. They also have an affect on the balance and harmony of our major chakras because there are foods that can help maintain the balance and functions of the bodys seven major chakras.

The first energy point, the root, is nourished by tubers and food rich in protein. The navels energy point on the other hand is benefited by our diet of sweet fruits and nuts while our energy point in our solar plexus chakra gets nourishment form wheat products, dairy and cereals.

Our energy points that affect the heart and throat are sustained when we eat green, leafy vegetables, drink plenty of liquid, green tea and fruit juices.

On the other hand, our third eye chakra is get nourishment when we eat blueberries and grapes and drink wine or grape juice. It is equally important to nourish this chakra as it makes feelings and senses sharper.

Our crown chakra, the center of our spiritual and emotional center needs detoxification through fasting and/or ritual inhalation of incense and herbs.

These everyday methods, which admittedly are vey simple since they are an extension of what we already perform daily are some of the basic ways we can heal our energy points so that we can reap the benefits of possessing a healthy functioning chakra for a more productive and healthier life.

Gout: Know what it is and what you can do about it

Filed Under (Alternative) by Aneron Kepasil on 07-02-2010

Gout is a type of arthritis that occurs when uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints. Gout usually affects the large joint of the big toe but can also affect other joints, including the knee, ankle, foot, hand, wrist and elbow. The shoulders, hips or spine can also be affected during the later stages of gout. The symptoms of gout usually appear suddenly, and can last anywhere from a few hours to several days.

Beef, iron, and pork are also purine rich foods, but these meats do not usually cause gout if they are consumed in moderation. Game meat may also contain high amounts of purine, although most people do not consume a large amount of game meat as part of a modern diet.

Most doctors will use prescription medicines as the treatment for gout. A medicine called colchicine will help reduce inflammation, swelling and pain caused by sudden gout attacks. The medicine works by decreasing the uric acid crystals built up in the joint. However, the medicine does not reduce the levels of uric acid in the blood stream. Most often the pain usually goes away in about twelve hours of starting the treatment for gout, and is completely relieved by 48 hours. Taking the medicines colchicine, or allopurinol, usually prevents future attacks.

As another effective treatment for gout, your doctor may suggest that you take anti-inflammatory, non-steroidal medicines. These medicines should be takes as soon as the symptoms start to relieve inflammation and pain. Occasionally, as another treatment for gout, strong painkillers may be prescribed. Corticosteroids could also be another effective treatment for gout. Your doctor may inject corticosteroids into your joints to ease the pain.

The cause of gout may be metabolic, renal, or both. Metabolic gout is innate, and several genetic factors have the potential to produce the condition. In this form of gout, the body produces more uric acid than can be cleared by the kidneys into the urine. Renal gout is caused by one of many possible renal dysfunctions. In this form of gout, the body may produce normal levels of uric acid, but the action of the kidneys are insufficient to clear the compound from the blood.

There have been concerted efforts in recent times to harmonize natural herbs and plants extracts in order to get rid of the cause of gout, achieve instant relief and permanently cure gout. These efforts gave birth to Goutezol, a produxt now in the market. It is arguably the best cure for gout.
